Andrea Parsons originally studied graphic design, working in the industry for a number of years before the call of her first love, gardens, became too strong. She decided to swap one design profession for another and enrolled at The College of Garden Design in Surrey where she studied under Robin Williams and Lucy Huntingdon. She graduated with a distinction and set up The Parson's Garden in 1989. Shortly after going out on her own Andrea entered and won a competion to design a small garden for Bradstone at The Chelsea Flower Show. Within a few years she was back at Chelsea again, this time designing a show garden for Help The Aged, when in 1993 her proposal was selected from a shortlist of five. She went on to design the charity's garden for four consecutive years, winning a Silver Gilt medal on each occassion. At Chelsea she also met her future business partner, and husband to be, Kevin Looker.

Kevin is a graduate of Writtle College, a leading educational institution specialising in 'land-based' professions. By the time he met Andrea he already had many years practical experience in the construction of landscapes and gardens. They realised that working together, and with their complementary skills, they could offer a complete design and construction package and in 1995 The Parson's Garden Construction was established.

Experience counts...
In the past 20 years or so the company has designed and built a wide range of gardens, amassing along the way a wealth of experience and in-depth knowledge. Each and every garden presents its own challenges. We enjoy finding solutions to them all, be they large or small, grand or modest.

We have a core team of designers and landscapers which now includes a specialist in exterior lighting. But we are not just dependant on own resources. We have built up a network of high quality suppliers and manufacturers who we can rely on to provide whatever we require – from meadow grass to mature trees, from granite sets to custom-made pergolas.

Andrea is a full member of The Society of Garden Designers and The Parson's Garden is registered with The British Association of Landcape Industries.
